Three months after the government gave the green light for the vaccinations of A4 category or the economic frontline workers, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) employees have now received vaccines against Covid-19 from different vaccination hubs in the Region. As of August 16, 2021, MGB R.O.-V has reached 94% of the total number of employees who received first dose of vaccine while 45% of which are fully vaccinated, they all belong to A4 category.

A4 category according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolution no. 117 includes employees from the private-sector workers who need to be physically present in their workplace; employees in government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations and local government units; informal sector workers; and self-employed individuals who work outside their homes and those working in private households.

This action is in support of the government’s overall aim to achieve herd immunity and to protect the community against the virus.
