In line with the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) in partnership with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Tiwi and Philippine Geothermal Production Company has recently conducted a Geohazard Forum to LGU-Tiwi on July 22, 2021 at the Tiwi Old Ceramics Bldg., Tigbi, Tiwi, Albay.
Ms. Arlene E. Dayao, the Chief Geologist of MGB R.O.-V discussed various geologic hazards present in the community. Further, Ms. Dayao presented the flood and landslide hazard map of Tiwi. This Geohazard Forum aims to increase the level of awareness of the community on the municipality’s susceptibility to hazards posed by flooding and landslide.
