On March 12, 2018 Regional Director Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV met and coordinated with five (5) operating mines to discuss respective plans and corresponding timetables with the progressive rehabilitation of all disturbed areas in the Region.

This is in immediate compliance with Memorandum issued by MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano addressed to all Regional Directors nationwide dated February 2, 2019 re: Timetable of Progressive Rehabilitation of disturbed areas. Accordingly, the directive enjoined all Regional Offices to meet and coordinate with all mining companies concerned to discuss the plans and the respective timetable for the progressive rehabilitation of all disturbed areas within five (5) days from receipt of the Memorandum.

Furthermore, all Regional Directors shall require all mining companies to submit a final timetable for the said activity after such coordination meeting and shall submit a consolidated report to this Office not later than February 23, 2018.

Likewise, to serve as a baseline records, all Regional Offices are required to submit drone photos of all disturbed areas in high resolution electronic photographs. Such photos must have been taken no older than three (3) months from the date of the issuance of this Memorandum and must also be submitted not later than February 23, 2018.

The Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division of MGB is tasked to monitor compliance to this Memorandum and shall ensure proper and timely submissions by the respective regional offices.

During the said meeting, operating mining companies agreed to submit their updated Progressive Rehabilitation of disturbed areas with drone photos. As of March 2018, the following mining companies submitted their updated Progressive Rehabilitation, to wit: Filminera Resources Corporation, Ibalong Resources and Development Corporation, Johson gold Mining Corporation, Orophil Stonecraft Inc., Rapu-Rapu Minerals, Inc., and UBS Marketing Corporation.
