Fifty-five (55) personnel of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V in Legazpi City have benefitted from the conduct of its annual physical medical health check-up on December 14, 2020.

Determination of employees’ health status was undertaken thru Physical Examination, Chest X-Ray, ECG, CBC with platelet count, lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglyceride) BUA/Blood Uric Acid, BUN, Creatinine, FBS, SGOT, SGPT, Urinalysis and Fecalysis with occult blood. This was made possible thru the MGB R.O.-V contracted medical service provider, Southeast Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Services, Inc. (SOHESI). Doctor’s diagnosis was availed of for early detection of warning signs of disease, illness, and health problem and for possible medical intervention.

The conduct of annual physical medical health check-up for personnel was a realization of the commitment under the Employees Preventive Health and Wellness Program clause of the Collective Negotiation agreement between the management and the employees’ association, whereby the “MGB shall support and allocate funds for the said programs and coordinate with MGBEA for the implementation”.

As an earlier related development, the MGB RO-V has also contracted the services of Rapid Global Medical Diagnostic, Inc. for the administration of Rapid Antibody Tests or Antigen Tests for personnel, particularly for fieldmen and technical personnel that may have been exposed to possible Covid-19 infection in the course of performance of their official duties and responsibilities. Undergoing thru tests were in accordance with the Covid-19 Safety and Health Protocols developed by the MGB R.O.-V consistent with the IATF/DOH/LGU guidelines and DENR-MGB issuances.
