The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office no. V (MGB R.O.-V) headed by OIC, Regional Director Engr. Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV supported the Department of Education’s nationwide school clean-up and rehabilitation community program dubbed as “Brigada Eskwela” with the theme: “Matatag na Bayan para sa maulad na Paaralan” last May 25, 2019 in Lacag National Highschool.
In keeping with the Filipino spirit of “Bayanihan”, MGB R.O.-V employees, partners from the mining industry and Bicol University Kusog Batch ’81 volunteered their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the schoolyear this June 3, 2019.

This annual participation of MGB R.O.-V which started in 2015 aims to promote the spirit of bayanihan and volunteerism gearing schools to be ecologically conscious, safe, resilient, clean and conducive to learning.
Brigada Eskwela was made possible thru the help and support of the following partners from the mining industry in the Region: Filminera Resources Corporation, Phil. Gold Processing and Refining Corporation in Aroroy, Masbate; Ibalong Resources and Development Corporation in Camalig, Albay; Mt. Labo Exploration and Development Corporation in Labo, Camarines Norte and UBS Marketing Corporation in Lamba, Legazpi City.
