To standardize the evaluation of Exploration Work Program, Three Year Development / Utilization Work Program, Annual Safety and Health Program, Environmental Work Program, Community Development Program, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program, Social Development and Management Program, Final Mine Rehabilitation and/or Decommissioning Plan, Care and Maintenance Program, as well as corresponding monitoring checklist and scorecard the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) technical personnel attended a four-day Capacity Building Seminar on the “Standardized Checklist for the Monitoring of Tenements and Safety and Health, Environment, and Social Development Programs” for Luzon Cluster on April 10 – 13, 2018 at the Hotel Rembrandt, Quezon City.

The Capacity Building was attended by representatives from the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division (MSESDD) and Mine Management Division (MMD) of the different MGB regional offices from Luzon, namely Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), I, II, III, IV CALABARZON, MIMAROPA Region, and V.

The Monitoring checklist and scorecard will serve as an evaluation tool for a mining company in terms of its compliance with safety and health, environment, social development and tenements. The scores will be generated from the checklist that will serve as a guide as yardstick of the mining companies nationwide.
